Motivation and purpose
As a person, I have a world view with many more or less established opinions. I enjoy debating, but often have problems putting forward strong arguments in favour of my opinions. Sources that once led to new insights are difficult to scrape together in retrospect if they were not recorded in a way that can be found. The same applies to arguments that were once well thought out - these are also forgotten in detail and can no longer be accurately reproduced. What remains is an impression - an opinion. This may be very substantive, but it is of little use to either side in a critical dialogue if the substance of the opinion and the arguments are no longer coherently comprehensible. To convince others, you have to be convinced yourself! The clearer an argument is formulated and the more coherently it is thought through in detail, the more convincing it is.
In this respect, Heinrichsgeist.de is my personal persuasion toolkit, which I use to
- maintain a set of arguments/models that are coherent in detail
- including a card index for supporting sources
- including a pinboard with my own contributions, which I formulate from the arguments
Mental model
On Heinrichsgeist.de a mental model of a world view is to be developed successively. It is an experiment with an artistic flavour and an uncertain outcome. This is not a blog, even if it appears to be one at first glance. Just as opinions can change and new findings and observations (e.g. the unexpected invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022) can lead to new assessments, the contributions here should be seen more as living than ‘final’.
